Gary Sheffield homered and had 5 RBI at the ballpark where the Caracas Leones
beat the Langley Farm Team 6 to 4.
Sheffield had a big day at the plate. He lined a single resulting in a run in
the 1st inning, ripped a base-knock which was good for two runs in the 4th
inning and blasted a two-run home run (his 7th of the season) in the 9th
inning. Overall Caracas out-hit Langley 15 to 8.
The win went to Brad Penny(2-6) who allowed 2 runs in 6 innings. Penny got
help from Scot Shields who earned his 3rd save. Mark Mulder(4-4) was given
the loss. He was touched for 14 hits and 2 walks in 7 and 1/3 innings.
